Description

The MS581 sound decoder from Zimo is their primary Next18 sound decoder for the MS range, packed with all the features you have come to expect from Zimo, plus 6 AUX function outputs for lighting and 2 logic level outputs (FA3/4), smoke generators, auto-couplings etc.

The MS581 has a pair of 5V Tantalums on board (not 'G' version) and can have unlimited additional 5V Tantalums added directly for stay-alive. Alternatively you can use dedicated solder pads to connect up to 1000uF/16V directly, or go via a LifeLink or STACO for unlimited stay-alive.

A special 'G' version is also available without those Tantalums, but supplied with a pair of GoldCaps for external connection instead.

An additional +5V common is available for direct connection of LEDs (no need for resistors - dependent upon your LED type of course).

One of the most significant improvements over the predecessor (MS580) is the audio now supports 4 ohm and up to 3W, similar to the larger OO decoders (MS450/440).
