Graham Farish Deltic DP1 Prototype Diesel/Electric

The pre-cursor to the Class 55 Deltic, this is the now well-known DP1 Prototype diesel/electric loco in striking bright blue. Perhaps not everyone's favourite colour (a little too American?!), but no-one can deny the awesome presence that this loco had on the line. One seriously noisy brute!

While it is impossible to make you shake off your chair using a 10x15mm 8ohm speaker, YouChoos has recreated some of the character of this beast using a CT Elektroink SL75/SL76 or Zimo MX648 decoder and the now familiar SugarCube speaker.

Lots of sound effects available including a wide range of those distinctive (but odd!) Deltic horns. The engine sounds themselves include a lengthy startup and shutdown sequence as well as some rumbling notch-up and high-speed rev engine noises.

As well as giving control of the factory-fit head/tail lights, YouChoos has added independent cab lights, some cab detailing and crew.

Thanks to Jerry Clifford for the use of his multi-award winning 2mm Fine Scale layout "Highbury Colliery" for some of the photos featured here!
