Er, so what exactly is an 'autocoach' and what can you do with it?
YouChoos Guides
Hornby GWR Autocoach
Autocoaches were used by GWR, mechanically coupled to certain tank engines, so that a driver could control the locomotive from
the rear of the coach, thus driving the train backwards, without having to switch the steam engine from one end to another.
A range of GWR's tank engines were fitted with such equipment to allow an autocoach to be linked and driven in this way, sometimes
even through multiple coaches.
Our example here is a Hornby autocoach, to which YouChoos has added pickups, DCC, large capacitor (to give flicker-free lighting),
interior coach lighting and directional lamps, as well as some more weathering to match the ailing steam engine.
