Hornby OO LMS Black 5 Capriotti with MS Sound

Kit: MS440C; 15x11mm StickyGasket speaker

The 2024 release of Hornby's Capriotti variant of the Black sports a 21pin socket in the tender, working lamps, and a space designed in the tender for a single SugarCube component speaker (StickyGasket 15x11mm).

Our speaker sticks onto the provided box underneath the PCB, making contact via the speaker's spring clips to contact pads (no soldering required).

The MS440C plugs in, and there is just enough space above for the sample 1000uF capacitor to add a little bit of stay-alive.

The speaker is adequate, but not loud. It wouldn't be too difficult to cut the plastic slope under the coal load to get a better speaker in, but in this case we just keep it simple.
