Kit: MS950+LOK950P adapter, YLR603010 and YLR302815 speakers
An excellent example of a DJH Britannia in O gauge. Good design, relatively easy to get into, and plenty of spare space in the
boiler for kit.
Boiler removed from the chassis - nice and easy.
Various parts can be removed from the cab-end to reveal access into the boiler.
Our MS950 decoder is plugged into the LOK950P adapter board. Wires are soldered to pads on the adapter for track, motor and
speakers (we opt for a couple of speakers... YLR603010 and YLR302815 - a great pairing).
Once the cab detailing is unscrewed, we have access through to the smokebox for the bundles. YLR302815 speaker goes in first,
just up ahead of the aperture for the motor. YLR603010 along with the decoder goes just aft of the motor aperture. All
secured with BlackTack and Kapton to insulate anything we feel may be at risk (not much).
Our customer wanted the option to bypass the decoder to run on DC sometimes. We do this with 4pin mini-connectors which will be
accessible from underneath, without needing to take the body off the chassis.
Sockets are attached under the front bogie and the plug part (on the motor/pickup side) can be plugged into either a socket for
DCC connection, or to a 'blanking' socket for DC running.
ModelU crew figures, and all back together - lovely loco!
