The Dapol N Gauge GWR Hall Class... installation guide for DCC sound using Zimo MX648 and SugarCube7 speaker...
Pop the top off the tender to reveal the diagonal 6pin DCC socket board.
Remove the DCC socket board and the components across the motor terminals. Be careful not to over-heat the motor pins as these
will move around if too much heat is applied. Also grind flat the plastic screw towers where the DCC socket board was fixed in.
The SugarCube7 speaker sits flat, with enclosure downwards. Trim and hard-wire the MX648 so that it will sit on top of the
motor. Carefully cut out the coal load moulding so that it is big enough for the MX648 to slot comfortably through.
Test fit the tender body with the decoder in place, and topped with some oversized electrical tape. The tape gives an extra
layer of protection, as we will glue our replacement coal directly onto this.
Once you are happy with the fit, and running is satisfactory, drop some thick glue (very sparingly) onto the tape and neatly
tease some crushed Woodland Scenics 'Lump Coal' into the area.
