Kit: MX644D; IceCube55X18X09-2W; SACC16+SuperCap17000uF
We love this Dapol OO model of the Class 52 Western - great detail, solid build and designed with DCC Sound in mind from the
start... a simple plug-and-play using a Zimo MX644D 21pin decoder and LS2040B bass reflex box speaker, which just clips in and
somes awesome! We added a SuperCap6800 stay-alive to this one too!
NOTE: LS2040B discontinued, but Zimo dual Dumbo LS55X22X09-2W or IceCube55X18X09-2W are also perfect fits and sounds even
better!

Kit: MX644C; YLR603010; LifeLink+17000uF SuperCap
Dapol designed the electronics in their OO Western at some point to take a 6 function MTC 21pin decoder, allowing separate
control of tail lights and cab lights. They assumed a true MTC decoder, with logic-level outputs for FA3 and FA4, which means
we must use the MX644C version (instead of MX644D) in this revised model.

As a bit of an experiment, we decided to try to squeeze our YLR603010 speaker into this one. Performance is better than the
dual Dumbo/IceCube 55m speakers, but it is bigger, so some modification is required, including removing the box supports from
the model, and chamfering the sides of the speaker - it is very tightm but can be done with a little patience.

We practise-position the SuperCap too, to make sure it will go in.

Then wrap it in Kapton tape, and connect up the LifeLink.

All in position and snuggly fitting...
