The MX649N sound decoder is a 6pin direct plugin sound decoder, but is marginally too long for the Farish model, so the easiest
approach is to remove the 6pin DCC socket from the model and solder the pins of the decoder directly to the model's circuit
board. A minor cut of the seating compartment makes room easily for a SugarCube9.
The non-motorised end cars are easily fitted with Zimo MX681N 6pin direct plugin function-only decoders, providing control of
the direction head/tail lighting.
Example 2: MS490N, RE MicroCube
Kit: MS490N 6pin direct plugin, RE 12x8x8 MicroCube (MiniBox)
Here we revisit the Farish 350 EMU with newer kit - the MS490N 6pin direct sound decoder simply plugs into the socket, no
modification. We also go with the small MiniBox speaker so no modification is required to the seating either, though this is of
course quieter than the SugarCube speaker.
