Fairly easy install, as the tender is empty - just remove the 6pin socket and create as much space as possible.
Example 2: Zimo Sound and Stay-Alive
There appears to be a fair bit of space possible to create in this tender, so we decide to go one better and squeeze in a
little bit of stay-alive, using our LifeLink PCB and a single 470uF tall/narrow Tantalum capacitor. We solder the capacitor
directly to the relevant pads on the LifeLink just to avoid extra wires.
With the stay-alive and decoder wrapped separately in Kapton tape, it all goes in without too much fuss, thouhg with the whole
coal load removed.
We rebuild a coal load, first starting with electrical tape, then carefully shaped BlackTack, sealed on all edges so that the
glue for the lump coal doesn't seep through. Spend some time doing this to get it nicely formed.
