Example 1: O Gauge Heljan Class 05 Diesel with Zimo Sound

Kit: MX644D; 2x SugarStrand25X09X06; SACC16 + SuperCap17000uF

We quite like this model from Heljan, though the provision for a speaker is rather limited. We choose to get creative and go with a pair of low-profile SugarStrands instead...

No complex re-wiring to do... simply plug in the MX644D 21pin decoder and all the lighting should work as-is. We add wires to the decoder for the stay-alive (SuperCap17000uF via SACC16 PCB), and split off the speaker wires in parallel to the pair of SugarStrands. 2 of these 8 ohm speakers means 4 ohm in total, which is fine with the MX644D.

The speakers sit vertically, one either side... they have to be the low-profile 6mm version to do this, but together they woik well.

Example 2: IceCube speaker instead

Alteratively, use a single IceCube speaker in the provided speaker recess - remove teh round plastic enclosure and put an IceCube18X13X09-1W in there instead.
