Kit: MS440C; MGOLANG or MGOBLOCK stay-alive
Like the O gauge Small Prairie, the 3MT is a fabulous model. Different design in terms of DCC approach, go with Dapol's boiler
door slide-out PCB, which works very well. This is a new version though, with no speaker provision on the board, but instead, a
very good factory speaker already fitted.

The boiler door swings open, kept in place with a magnet. The door rim fell out of this model, but not broken - just not
enough glue to hold it in

Remove the 21pin blanking plate.

A Zimo MS440C 21pin sound decoder is connected up with an MGOLANG stay-alive (6 mini GoldCaps in series). Stay-alive probably
isn't too important with this model, but it is so easy to do, why wouldn't you?!

Wrap the MGOLANG in kapton tape and fix to the underside of the PCB with BlackTack.

Slide it in, and tuck the stay-alive wires safely inside.

Set chuff rate CV#267=185, about right to get 4 chuffs per wheel revolution in this model.
Fitted, tested, and time for a photo shoot - well done Lionheart - great model!

Continuing this, we decide to add a bi-colour lamp to the front of the loco too, which should be quite straight-forward...
Wires must be added to the appropriate feet of the 21pin adapter in the model. Blue is for common positive, white for forward
light and yellow for reverse light. We're going to use one of our YouChoos O gauge lamps for this, so the wire colours match.

Decoder in, and MGOLANG stay-alive under the board.

Board in, and test, then we can fit the lamp to the top/front of the boiler door.

A protective resistor goes on the common blue wire.
Neatly tuck the wires instead and close the door.

Working directional white/red lamp... job done!
