Kit: MS500N; IceCube18X13X06; STACO1 stay-alive kit
Bachmann 6pin 64XX Pannier Tank has a new option for converting to DCC Sound with the advent of the MS sound decoder range - we
can retain the 6pin DCC socket for a much easier approach!
The platform in the boiler is fairly large already, so we need to figure out the positions for all our kit. The kit can be
pre-wired before going near the model - here you see the MS500N with its' 6pins, and the little STACO circuit board joined to 3
mini GoldCaps (caps joined in series), and of course the IceCube speaker.
Speaker on first, flat on the platform, and top protected with Kapton.
The MS500N plugs in next, with the STACO PCB on top of it, separated with a slither of electrical tape. The GoldCaps are
carefully arranged behind, insulating as appropriate.
Perfect fit! The STACO1 kit gives 5-10 seconds of backup time after initially charging (takes up to 5 seconds to charge fully).
Excellent performance, very gratefully received by our Pannier!
