Kit: MS450PluX22, SuperCap17000uF
Bachmann's retooled 37 has some super detail, as well as coming with 2 speakers as standard (even the non-DCC versions), so DCC
Sound conversion is a doddle. We love the choice of PluX22 socket too!
There is a small SugarCube speaker in a housing on top of the circuit board, and a large round speaker in a worthwhile
enclosure underneath the board too.
Our Zimo MS450PluX22 sound decoder plugs in, in place of the blanking plate. We coulld leave it there, but we decide to add a
good stay-alive too in the form of our SuperCap 17000uF.
The SuperCap is wired directly to the decoder, which has dedicated pads for this purpose. The cap is then wrapped in Kapton
tape and positioned next to the smaller speaker on top of the board.
All great so far, but we find that the round speaker is giving a bit of vibration in this model, so we remove it in order to
add some spots of BlackTack which help to hold it in the correct position and reduce the rattle.
