The 8pin version of Bachmann's Class 40 is a relatively basic design internally. There isn't much spare available for a decent
speaker, so we decide to mill some of the chassis to make room for a Baby Boomer.
Paul didn't have access to a milling machine, so a good old-fashioned manual approach was taken...
Just to compensate for some of the removed weight, liquid lead was put into the fuel tank.
The speaker fits across ways, under the fan, so easy escape for the sound, but the chassis cutting had to be sufficiently deep
to leave the fan assembly intact.
