Bachmann Class 57 Diesel with Zimo sound and stay-alive

Kit: MX644D; IceCube28X18X09-2W speaker; SACC16+SuperCap17000uF

Super model here from Bachmann - lots of detail, heavy, and a smooth runner.

Removing the body reveals the 21pin DCC socket, and enough space for a good speaker.

We decided to go a bit crazy with the lighting in this model, and have separated control of the cab lights, top markers, whites and reds, so everything has independent control! A plug-and-play would have been easy of course!

To do the rewire of the lighting, we have soldered our new lighting wires directly to the feet of the 21pin adapter in the model's PCB. For these lights we must add in new resistors too, as they are no longer protected by the resistors that are part of the factory PCB.

The IceCube28X18X09-2W fits comfortably into the space provided, and sounds excellent - no need for any chassis modification to get really good sounds on this one!

Perhaps a little unncessary, since the model is quite heavy, with good pickups, but we decide to include a stay-alive - a YouChoos 17000uF SuperCap, connected to the MX644D via a SACC16 kit.
