Bachmann OO Southern EMU with Zimo MS sound

Kit: MS440C; YLR4020FLAT speaker

A simple approach to sound-fitting this Southern EMU - 21pin MS440C just plugs in, and a flat 40x20mm 2W speaker.

We just use the sample 1000uF capacitor for a little stay-alive, which comes with the MS440.

Under the seating mould we find the solder pads for speaker connection and feed a pair of wires up.

The speaker is attahced, and a couple of short screws are used to fix the speaker into the designed position.

If we didn't mind a larger speaker showing through the glazing, we could have put in a really nice big Rail Exclusives BoomBox (40x20x10mm).
