Bachmann LNER V3 Tank with Zimo MS Sound - nice and simple
Kit: MS580; SugarCube8
Very quick and simple install here, into the Bachmann V3 Tank using a Zimo MS580 Next18 and SugarCube speaker.
With the body off, we remove the original standard DCC decoder and fix in our SugarCube8 speaker, adding wires back to the
Next18 PCB, tacking these into position as they go.
The purple speaker wires are soldered to the corresponding pads on the model's PCB.
MS580 is plugged in, and off for a test run.
It would have been pretty simple to add a good stay-alive to this too - we'd probably have gone with a pair of mini GoldCaps,
which can be connected in series to the Tantalums on the decoder. However, our model does run pretty well anyway even without
that.
