Kit: MX644C (or MS440C); IceCube28X18X09 speaker; LifeLink+17000uF SuperCap for stay-alive
Another great design from Dapol, the Class 29 is provided with DCC sound in mind, so a simple 21pin socket and a large area for
a decent speaker.
Our IceCube actually looks quite small in the intended speaker space, but sound very good, and the extra gap can be used for a
really good stay-alive.
Here is that stay-alive - a 17000uF SuperCap attachced via a LifeLink to the MX644C decoder. If we went with the later MS440C
decoder, the SuperCap could go direct to the decoder, so the LifeLink wouldn't be needed. Cover in Kapton - especially since
the SuperCap's body is joined to the Ground terminal!
Shown here neatly in position and fixed down with a little BlackTack.
