Example 1: Heljan OO Class 25 Diesel with Zimo MS Sound
Kit: MS440 (C or D); SugarCube24X15X07
Fairly straight-forward DCC Sound installation in this Class 25 model - the speaker choice and connection are all that cause
any bother at all...
Off comes the 21pin blanking plug, and our MS440 goes in. We have connected our stay-alive (1000uF) capacitor already, which
sits on the platform at one end behind that cab, and our speaker will sit on the platform at the other end.
The speaker is a 7mm dual SugarCube24X15, which we have to wire directly to the decoder since the model does not provide any
solder points for it. Instead, Heljan have placed a tiny 2pin socket on their PCB, but not supplied any plug to go into it, so
not at all useful. If you are worried about soldering the speaker wires direct to a 21pin decoder, then you can ask YouChoos
to do this for you when you buy the kit!
Example 2: Same, but bigger speaker, and MGOLANG for stay-alive
Kit: MS440C; IceCube28X18X09; MGOLANG
Same model configuration, but we go with a bigger speaker and the excellent MGOLANG stay-alive.
