Kit: Zimo MX645 with Zimo Dumbo LS18X13X13-1W

Under the chimney of the Hornby 5MT is an empty cavity, so we'll make use of that for the perfectly sized Zimo Dumbo speaker, the LS18X13X13-1W. Secure it with a little Black-Tack. Our decoder is the MX645 which we will hard-wire by removing the model's 8pin socket. Doing this will make room for 3x 330uF Tantalum capacitors for stay-alive - enough to make a difference. So here is the model and the kit...

Now we have the kit wired up (note Tantalums in parallel), and protected with some Kapton tape. Hard-wire into the model - orange and grey wires to the motor, red and black wires to pickups...

Careful use of Black-Tack to place everything where we want it...
