Kit: MS500 hard-wired, SugarCube6, 2x 470uf Flat Tantalums
We quite like Hornby's little diesel Sentinel... quite weighty and enough scope to put some worthwhile DCC Sound kit into. We
start by removing the 6pin DCC socket and wiring, to make space for our kit.
This is a wired MS500 (tiny Zimo sound decoder), hard-wired with a SugarCube6 speaker and a pair of flat 470uF Tantalum
capacitors, which give just enough stay-alive to improve running reliability.
Yes, you must be neat with this install, using Kapton tape to insulate and ensuring that any unwanted wires are removed, and
the wires you do keep are shortened to best fit. It is a tight fit, but not so tight as to put any pressure on the kit.
