Hornby OO HST (21pin version with factory dual speaker)

Kit: MS440C

Hornby updated their HST model in 2023 with 21pin DCC fittings, and a decent dual SugarCube speaker onboard already. it also has working fans, and uprated lighting.

This is the motor car. Blanking plate out.

Our MS440C is plugged in (we have a special version of this project which includes control of the fans). Note that the speed of the fans can be adjusted to your taste with the variable resistor (the blue plastic component)

We could fit an even bigger speaker, but the factory dual SugarCube is pretty good anyway, so we keep it simple.

The MS440 comes with a sample stay-alive capacitor, 1000uF, which we have attached, wrapped in Kapton, then used double-sided tape to fix it into position.

The dummy car is much the same, just more space to play with.
