Kit: MX648; RailExclusives BabyBoomer 18X13X13-1W; LifeLink with SuperCap17000uF
Though there isn't a lot of space in the older Hornby Rebuilt Bulleids, there is enough to get a decent level of kit. Here we
remove the 8pin socket to make space for a good 18X13X13 speaker, with MX648 decoder sitting across-ways at the rear of the
chassis, and LifeLink with SuperCap17000uF aimed forward into the boiler area.
The socket is removed, and its' screw towers files down flat.
We need to open out the frame to allow the 18X13X13 speaker to slide comfortably up into the void.
Our stay-alive is a LifeLink PCB with a 17000uF SuperCap - brilliant performance. Cover the bits in Kapton to protect from any
shorting.
Everything wired in and shown roughly in position now.
Check that it runs in the correct direction before putting the body back on - switching the decoder's orange and grey wires is
still easy to do if it goes backwards to what is expected.
