Revisiting an older model here with Zimo MS kit. It is quite limited for space, for a smaller decoder in the boiler and hard-wiring is the way to go...

Care must be taken to undo the speedo before removing the body.

The 8 pin DCC socket is removed and we mill the chassis top down flat, removing the screw mounts.

We test-fit our deocder, speaker and 1000uF capacitor - it is very tight, but think we can make it fit.

A bit of jiggling and shifting of the components slightly, and it all goes in. Using BlackTack and Kapton tape to tidy it all up.
