A much simpler approach to fitting DCC Sound into Hornby's Rocket, simply plugging in a 6pin sound decoder.
We use the very short MS500N decoder, no room for stay-alive, so those wires can be removed.
The one tricky bit with this approach is to VERY carefully loop the pins of the decoder back on themselves so they will plug
into the model's 6pin socket above the PCB. Warranty void of course, but the approach does make it far less risky an approach
anyway.
Kapton tape insulates at each level, with the decoder plugged 'reverse' into the socket, and a Minnow4 speaker placed on top.
This little package fits neatly into the barrel.
