Hornby OO Terrier (6pin version) with Zimo MS and big stay-alive
Kit: MS500; Minnow4; STACO3A stay-alive
Here we revisit Hornby's lovely Terrier, this time with a Zimo MS sound decoder, and the latest stay-alive.
We still have to hard-wire a sound decoder (MS500 in this case), and the Minnow4 speaker neatly sits above the decoder (similar
to our previous MX approaches), but since the MS500 is so short, we have space for the little PCB from the STACO3A kit.
The 2 mini GoldCaps that are part of the STACO3A stay-alive kit, are wired in series and one placed each side at the top of the
tanks - they just fit perfectly!
This stay-alive provides a few seconds of back-up time, so a huge improvement over previous approaches.
