Bachmann OO 64XX Pannier Tank with plug-in sound and stay-alive

Kit: MS500N; SugarCube6; STACO1 stay-alive kit

Seeking to have a fairly easy installation in this 6pin Bachmann 64XX, but still with good sound output, and an excellent stay-alive.

We're going to need all the space in the boiler, so start by removing the unwanted suppression components, and directly wiring the motor to the 6pin socket board.

Our stay-alive will be the STACO1 kit, which is a small PCB and 3 mini GoldCaps. The platform in the Pannier is just big enough to seat the 3 caps together.

A SugarCube6 speaker is the biggest that will go in here, and still allow for the stay-alive.

Caps and STACO PCB protected with Kapton tape. The STACO PCB will go on top of the caps, below where the decoder will plug in, but it is tight, so everything has to be done very neatly.

Our MS500N 6pin direct sound decoder should just slide into the socket.

Though the sound decoder is just a plug-in, this approach still requires a bit of care and thought in terms of neatness and compactness, but the results are excellent.
