How to Order

Below you can find details of how to order a YouChoos product. We would be delighted to discuss and clarify any of the details with you!

How to Order

The nature of most YouChoos’ products means that close communication with our clients is necessary. Sound decoders are often unique, tailored depending upon your personal preferences, such as function mapping, loco address, which sound effects you’d prefer etc.

Online purchasing is available if you are happy to take the default projects, but if you would like to use our customistation services then please first contact us by e-mail at info@youchoos.co.uk to start discussions. When initially contacting us, please provide as much detail as possible:

  • which model you are working on (be as precise as possible) e.g. manufacturer, product code if known and description
  • what items you would like - sound, smoke, firebox, cab light, crew, loco lamps, coach lighting etc.
  • your time-scales - most decoders and components ship within 2-3 days after payment, but often next day
  • your contact details - e-mail address, telephone, postal address
  • which DCC system you use

Warranty & Returns

At YouChoos we pride ourselves on customer support and service, and if a problem develops with any YouChoos product within the first 30 days after shipping, we will endeavour to repair / replace faulty components, or can offer advice if you wish to perform the repair yourself. Hopefully this is very unlikely given the thorough testing that has taken place. Most of the components will also still be covered by the manufacturer’s guarantee.

After 30 days we can offer advice or can provide a repair service (with associated cost).

Repairs required because of damage caused through careless handling or improper use (such as speakers being shorted, causing the decoder to become damaged) cannot be covered. However, in mosts cases, a repair/replace charge of £30 is levied on Zimo sound decoders, rather than full cost of a new decoder.

Postage & Packing

Postage within UK mainland is £5.55 (1st Class Signed For service). At checkout you may upgrade Special Delivery at £7.65.

For postage overseas, this is normally charged at £15 for a non-EU international signed for (or tracked) service or £12 for EU signed and/or tracked, please contact me first for a quote, as reduced rates may be possible under certain circumstances.

Payment

Payment can be made by direct bank transfer (YouChoos’ UK Barclays account 43035158 sort-code 20-05-06), card (over phone or with a link), or PayPal. Funds must be cleared before items are sent, unless prior agreement has been made. Online checkout facilities are serviced through PayPal, although you do not need a PayPal account to use it.

Loyalty and Bulk Discounts

I like to reward my repeat customers who come back for more, and offer £2 off every sound decoder once you have purchased 3 or more! Alternatively, if you order 5 or more sound decoders at the same time then £2 discount per decoder can also be applied. Bulk and loyalty discounts may be applied to the same order, so a maximum discount of £4 per sound decoder is possible. Both types of discounts are available for online purchasing - bulk discounts are automatically applied and loyalty discounts require a code, so please contact us before placing an order if you believe you are eligible.
