Example 1: Hornby LMS 8F with easy sound

Kit: MX648R; SugarCube9

First we go for a very simple approach with the smaller MX648R sound decoder, plugging straight in, and a SugarCube9 speaker down in the aperture of the metal weight... very easy, no modifications.

Example2: Bigger decoder, speaker and stay-alive

Kit: MX645; IceCube28X18X10-2W; SuperCap17000uF

With a little extra effort, hard-wiring, and cutting of the plastic slope under the coal load, substantially better kit can be fitted, which is particularly effective with the low Stanier whistles and worth the extra effort.
