Kit: MS481R; Storm8 speaker; LifeLink with 4x 470uF Tall Tantalums for stay-alive
A revisit to Hornby's T9 for fitment of Zimo MS sound, this is the 8-wheel tender version, so some space, but not a lot of
depth.
Snip out the suppressor capacitors so they don't interfere with motor control.
We can simply plug in an MS481R, and make use of one of our new Storm8 speakers, which are a 4 ohm speakers with even more
grunt than the IceCube or Breeze range!
We opt for a relatively small stay-alive due to them being quite compact, and that the model has pickups all round. These are 4
of the tall/narrow 470uF/16V Tantalums connected in parallel. You can't see it in the photos, but a LifeLink connection circuit
goes between the decoder and the Tantalums (required because the total is greater than 1000uF - this is the maxinum supported
by the MS481 directly).
