Hornby OO GWR Saint with MS sound

Kit: MS440C; StickyGasket 15x11mm speaker; 4x 470uF Tall Tantalums

Another great model from Hornby, the OO GWR Saint is an easy fit for DCC sound, with 21pin DCC socket and a neat box designed for a 15x11mm StickyGasket speaker. The speaker could be upgraded with some tender modifications, but for this guide we stick with that space, which works surprisingly well.

Note that this 21pin socket is upside down compared to many models, so double-check the missing index pin location, and orient the decoder accordingly.

The speaker component squeezes into the tender's box, and wiring goes to pads on the model's PCB, marked S1 and S2.

Optionally we want to add a little stay-alive, but without modifying the tender, so a small array of 4 of the tall/narrow 470uF Tantalums capacitors, joined in parallel, just slider under the decoder.
